Dr. Rixie Thompson is a storm conqueror and a two-time breast cancer survivor bringing 38 years of survivorship experience, insight, hope and empowerment that transform lives. Dr. Thompson was first diagnosed with this dreadful disease in 1984 at the age of 24 and again in 2007 at the age of 49. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Master degree in Public Administration with a consecration in Health Administration, Master degree in Theology and a Doctorate degree in Divinity.
Dr. Rixie is a member of Black Speakers Network and Professional Organization of Women of Excellence Recognized (POWER). She is a Certified Mentor with American Cancer Society Reach to Recovery Program and a Public Policy Advocate with Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. She is the Founder/CEO of Coaching in Pink Shoes Ministry where she coaches breast cancer survivors how to live a victorious life beyond breast cancer by using the Word of God, prayer, faith and other proven methods and techniques. She is better known as the Survivorship Coach of Coaching in Pink Shoes Ministry. Her first ministry is to carry the testimony that Jesus is STILL in the HEALING Business. She stands boldly in her 38 years of survivorship. Dr. Rixie is the Founder/CEO of More Than Conquerors Breast Cancer Support Group established to provides support, love, education, awareness, motivation and empowerment. She just recently launched the “Prayer in Pajamas” Prayer Ministry in 2016 and the “Kneeling Before God” Prayer Ministry in 2019. She has been teaching the uncut and uncompromised Word of God in the Prison Ministry for more than 18 years.
Dr. Rixie has received numerous awards such as: the “Susan G. Komen Survivor of the Year” Award, the Pinkie C. Wilkerson “Women in Ministry” Award initiated by Grambling’s Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, the NAACP “Community Trailblazer” Award. She served as a survivor modeler for “The Beauty of Early Detection” nationwide Poster Campaign. She is well known for her Signature Events: “The Beauty and The Breast” Pageant, “Giving Cancer the Boot” Parade, “Pink Princess” Gala, “Pink Pearl” Tea, Ladies’ Night Out on the Pink Carpet, “Paint the Town Pink” Project and “We Got Your Back Back-Pack” Project. She has been featured in several major magazines and made many appearances on major television and radio shows for her outstanding accomplishments against breast cancer. Her motto is, “It’s not what happens to you in life, but how you respond to it that matters.” People are raving about her special gift for easily connecting with audiences and survivors creating immediate feelings of trust and empowerment. Her favorite scripture is Isaiah 41:10: “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” God has given us the authority to speak to the storms of life… “Peace, be still” – Mark 4:39. Storms are no match for our God!
