Katina O’Neal is originally from Leaksville, MS. She now lives in the Tupelo/Saltillo area, has been in healthcare for over 25 years and currently works at Cardiology of N MS. She also host the radio show and podcast Motivate with KO. The show was not planned but the opportunity sort of fell in her lap. Katinas aunt is big into digital radio. She interviewed Katina for a show and it was the most listened to interview. Katina has a certain knack with people and is able to encourage or talk to anyone. She wasn’t going to do the show at first but someone said I will pay for your first 6 months with Envision Radio. Motivate with KO covers all topics regarding health and wellness. This is Katinas passion. She covers topics such as bone health, mental health, meal planning and prepping, how to stay motivated and how to stay encouraged. She admits it is scary sometimes to talk but she loves to see people healthy. She has worked with weight watchers in the past and taught CARES when she was at the hospital. Katina has always had a passion for fitness. She loves the way she feels after a workout and that she has a will to want to do it. She strives to set a goal for herself and loves achieving that goal. Her favorite form of workout is lifting weights but she also enjoys walking and spin class. She teaches at Pedal Life Cycle Tupelo. She enjoys walking in the morning by herself. This is her quiet time. Katina loves that when she is at the gym, in Tupelo, she sees so many other people that are moving. There are people coming together as one. There is growth and diversity and an effort to be healthy. She truly enjoys the park and recreation department in Tupelo. Every side of town in Tupelo has a nice park. There should be no reason for someone not to go outside, walk and be safe. Katina advises anyone looking to start their own podcast or show to do your research. She has always been one to push and encourage others but she struggles to push and encourage herself as hard as she should. She advises to follow after your heart and passion and get yourself a mentor. Katina is actually not a very opinionated person. It makes her uncomfortable but it pushes her out of her comfort zone and that is what she wants to do more. Katina has a greater vision for her show Motivate with KO though she is already heard around the world. She has had listeners from the Bahamas, Philippines and Nigeria. She would love to expand it to traveling for speaking engagements. She has a vision to visit other teams and talk to them. She plans to take speaking classes to educate herself more and prepare herself for speaking engagements. She try’s to keep her interviews short, around 30 minutes, to keep people engaged and she would love to, someday, tackle the hard conversations that make people think. She aims to show you someone else’s view on a topic and cover all sides. Katinas mission with Motivate with KO is to encourage, inspire, and to uplift people to life a healthy, happy and whole life. If she has done that, then she is good. If you have left her presence with a smile then she has accomplished her mission. Katina truly loves to see people happy and to see them smile. Katina is not only involved in ways to better people but also to better her community. She is working on an initiative to Transform Tupelo and the surrounding area. “This initiative is spearheaded by Cory Lee and is guided by the folks from John Maxwell. The John Maxwell Leadership Foundation marries influence and resources with desire and engagement. Top-tier leaders in the key streams of influence work together to create transformation. The Maxwell Transformation Process (MTP) becomes the conduit for leaders to see positive change in their countries and communities.” You can view her talks on the Envision website or the app Envision Broadcast Radio (EB Radio.) And fun little fact : she actually records all of her shows at the table in her kitchen.
